Prince George Health and Wellness Centre

Located on the main floor of the Prince George Campus, the Health and Wellness Centre provides support to students. If you do not have a family doctor, or if you require non-urgent care, the nurse practitioner or doctor is available to see you. Appointment bookings are accepted. Check out our schedule first.

Services provided include:

  • Prescription refills

  • Referral to other healthcare services

  • Wart removal

  • Well Woman Exams (PAP, STI, HIV testing)

  • IUD insertions

  • Chronic disease management

Counselling Services

Counselling services are also available at the Health and Wellness Centre. Book a consultation appointment, and we can help connect you to a support person who can best help you.

Dental Services

Explore the affordable dental services available at our dental centre, staffed by our dental hygiene and dental assisting students.

Recreation Services 

Stay healthy and active through Intersession and into the fall semester. Join the CNC Fit Page on Facebook for tips on overall health, free workouts designed for all skill levels, and continued support to be successful in your studies. 

Cost

There is no charge for registered CNC students who are covered by BC Medical. The Centre is a partnership between the College of New Caledonia and the Northern Health Authority. Your BC Medical Care Card number will be required for you to be able to receive services.

811 Health Service

811 is a free, confidential health information and advice service available 24/7 in British Columbia. Students can call 811 from any phone to speak with a registered nurse about symptoms, receive guidance on non-emergency medical concerns, and access information on local health resources. The service also connects callers with dietitians, pharmacists, and mental health professionals for specialized support. Here are ways you can dial 811:

  • From a BC phone number: dial 811
  • From an out-of-province or VoIP number: call 1-604-215-8110
  • For hearing-impaired services: dial 711 for TTY assistance.

Translation services are available in multiple languages to ensure accessibility for all.

Crisis Support

If you or someone else is in immediate danger or at risk of harming yourself or others, call 911.

Security & First Aid 

Get first aid services, have someone help you walk safely to your vehicle or dorm, or report an incident.

Crisis Support

Canadian citizens and permanent residents in B.C. are eligible for public health insurance, known as the Medical Services Plan (MSP). MSP covers the cost of medically necessary insured doctor services. All international students are required by law to have medical insurance while studying in BC.
