Applying online

Applications may be made online through Education Planner BC. To get started, visit the “How to Apply” page and click on “Apply Now”. It will walk you through the online application process step by step.

Applying in-person

You can apply in-person at any one of our campuses using our paper application form. 

Please make sure you also send in your transcripts once an application has been submitted. You can see the “Sending a transcript to CNC” page for more information.

The cost of each program varies slightly from year to year. Please consult the latest fee schedule by visiting the CNC Admissions webpage. The Fee Schedule is located here. For further information, contact the Office of the Registrar at 250-562-2131.

Student loans are applied for online through StudentAid BC. If you require support or help with the loan application process, please call Financial Aid 250-561-5838 or email finaid@cnc.bc.ca. Aboriginal students can contact an Aboriginal Student Advisor at 250-561-2131 ext. 5488 for assistance with band funding.

CNC houses the Aboriginal Resource Centre (ARC), which is on the traditional unceded territory of the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation. We acknowledge their graciousness for welcoming knowledge-seekers to their territory. There are cultural advisors, Aboriginal academic advisors, a Future Student Aboriginal Advisor, and liaisons available to provide information and support before and after you become a CNC student and will help you achieve your educational goals. CNC strives to be inclusive and equitable, embrace diversity and foster respectful relationships, and provide culturally safe services and facilities to Aboriginal students and communities. The Aboriginal Resource Centre (ARC) can be reached at 250-562-2131 ext. 5488.

If you are attending school on a Regional Campus, please contact the Academic Advisor at your campus.

You first need to have applied and been accepted into a specific program before being permitted to register. Information on application fees, requirements, fees, and deadlines can be found on the Application Information page. Once accepted, you can then register for classes within that program by logging into your CNC Connect. Instructions on how to search/add/drop classes can be found here. 

You will need to log into your CNC Connect account in order to find your student-specific Registration Priority Date. On the student menu, find the Academic Profile heading, and click on ‘When can I Register?’.

For help getting started, our Future Student Advisors are your first stop. You can email futurestudent@cnc.bc.ca or call 250 561 5855 to talk with a Future Student Advisor to discuss your interests and goals, as well as the application process.

Please note that Future Student Services is not able to do appointments with prospective International students.

You will need to apply online through the CNC Transfer Credits webpage and provide CNC a sealed official transcript from the institution you are transferring credits from and, in some cases, course outlines from the specific semester you took the course. 

CNC offers several foundation and apprenticeship programs. Review our website to see the different educational offers. For detailed information on the Apprenticeship educational model in British Columbia and Canada, go to SkilledTradesBC.

Your first point of contact would be the Aboriginal Academic Advisor at the Aboriginal Resource Centre on the Prince George Campus. This Advisor can help you navigate the application process alongside your Education Officer in the Band office. 

A prerequisite is an academic requirement that needs to be met before you can register for that course (ie: PSYC 101 is the prerequisite for PSYC 102) A prerequisite may be a course, a series of courses and there would be a minimum grade requirement (usually C grade).

Changes to your course schedule may be done online through CNC Connect.

Keep in mind the deadlines for adding, dropping, and switching classes. The ‘Important Dates and Deadlines’ document will be listed on the CNC Admissions webpage. On the left-hand side, this document is posted under ‘Publications’.

If you are experiencing difficulties navigating CNC Connect, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 250-562-2131. Those registering or making changes to their semester schedules at the Office of the Registrar will be asked to show photo ID.

Withdrawals may be done online through CNC Connect or at the Office of the Registrar. If you are experiencing difficulties navigating CNC Connect or have further questions, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 250-562-2131.

Students who wish to change programs can do so by applying to the new program. The application fee will still apply and you will be required to meet the entrance requirements for that particular program. If you meet these requirements and there is space in the program, you may be offered a seat.

To graduate from a program, you must meet specific academic requirements, including the successful completion of particular courses. Some of the courses you have taken in a previous program may count for credit in a different program, but they will be subject to scrutiny to ensure they are valued as equivalent, as specified by the particular program.

Students are responsible for finding their own apprenticeship placements after they complete their foundation program.

Students are responsible for registering for their own courses and can do so online through CNC Connect. If you are experiencing difficulties navigating CNC Connect, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 250-562-2131. Those registering at the Office of the Registrar will be asked to show photo ID. If you are uncertain as to which courses you are eligible to register for your specific program, please contact Academic Advising at 250-561-5818.

If it is not possible to discuss your academics with your instructor, we recommend visiting Student Services (Prince George campus 1-753) or calling 250-561-5818 to arrange an appointment with either a Student Success Advisor or a Wellness Coach. An Advisor or Coach will be able to review the steps you can take, such as accessing extra support throughout the remainder of the semester or possibly applying for a Medical/Personal Withdrawal.

Please visit Student Services (Prince George campus 1-753) or call 250-561-5818 to arrange an appointment with either an Academic Advisor or a Wellness Coach. Although an Advisor or Coach will not able to put in an application or advocate on your behalf, they can discuss the process for applying for a Medical/Personal Withdrawal and the implications for your studies in the program.  

Plagiarism is considered Academic Misconduct and is defined in the Standards of Conduct: Student Responsibility and Accountability as "The presentation of someone else's work, words or ideas as it they were one's own". In other words if you wrote a paper, used a quote or directly copied information without citing (noting) appropriately you’d be called on plagiarism. For more info consult the Academic Conduct policy.

You can review your GPA by logging in to your CNC Connect account: Academic Profile, Academic History. At the bottom of this last link, you will find your GPA.

To calculate your GPA, you can consult the Records Information in the current College Calendar.

You can access this information by logging into your CNC Connect, Academic Profile, Apply for Graduation. If you need additional information talk to an Academic advisor.

It depends as there are programs that require students to complete it within a specific time frame and other programs allow you to tailor your educational plans to fit your needs, and if you are an international student the answer should come from an advisor.

You will need to log into your CNC Connect in order to apply for graduation. On the student menu, find the Academic Profile heading, and click on ‘Apply for Graduation’. Follow the steps, and your graduation application status will then be updated.
